Copyright & DMCA Policy

riaaz respects the intellectual property rights of all artists, composers, and music publishers. This page explains how we handle copyright, and what to do if you believe your work has been used without permission.

1. Our Commitment to Rights Holders

riaaz is a Bollywood piano learning platform created by Ria Om Shandilya. We deeply respect the work of every composer, lyricist, music label, and publisher whose music inspires this platform.

All Bollywood songs, compositions, lyrics, melodies, and musical works featured on riaaz remain the exclusive intellectual property of their respective copyright holders — including but not limited to music labels such as T-Series, Zee Music Company, Sony Music India, Saregama, and Tips Music, as well as the individual composers and lyricists behind each work.

riaaz does not claim ownership over any third-party musical compositions or recordings. Our piano arrangements are independently created for the purpose of music education and personal practice.

2. Nature of Content on riaaz

The content on riaaz consists of:

Original platform elements — the website design, user interface, falling notes visualisations, graphics, and instructional text, all of which are original work by Ria Om Shandilya.
Piano arrangements — independently created interpretations of Bollywood songs, offered strictly for personal and educational use. These are not reproductions of original recordings or sheet music published by rights holders.

All content on riaaz is made available for personal, non-commercial, educational use only. No content may be reproduced, redistributed, publicly performed, or used for commercial purposes without explicit written permission.

riaaz is actively in the process of pursuing formal print and arrangement licensing with relevant music rights holders and is committed to full compliance with applicable copyright law.

3. DMCA Takedown Notice : For Rights Holders

If you are a copyright owner, or an authorised representative of one, and you believe that any content on riaaz infringes upon your copyright, you may submit a written notice to us. Upon receipt of a valid notice, we will act promptly — including removal of the relevant content.

To be valid, your notice must include all of the following:

Your full name and contact information (email address, phone number or mailing address).
A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
The specific content on riaaz that you believe infringes your work (please include the URL or page name).
A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on their behalf.

We aim to respond to all valid notices within 5–7 business days.

4. Counter-Notice

If you believe content was removed from riaaz as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to the same email address above. Your counter-notice should include:

Your full name, address, and email address.
Identification of the content that was removed, and its location on the website before removal.
A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
Your electronic or physical signature.

We will review all counter-notices in good faith and respond within a reasonable time.

5. Repeat Infringement Policy

riaaz will, in appropriate circumstances and at its sole discretion, disable or terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe or are repeatedly charged with infringing the copyrights or other intellectual property rights of others.

6. Third-Party Music Rights

All song titles, film names, artist names, and music labels referenced on this platform are the property of their respective owners and are used solely for the purpose of identifying the musical works being taught. Their use on riaaz does not imply any affiliation with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from those rights holders.

riaaz is an independent educational platform and is not affiliated with any Bollywood studio, music label, or artist management.
